To feel young…

Posted by Becca  Published in Ideas, Poems

To feel young again
Wade barefoot in a cold creek;
Sunbathe on the bank.

Answered Prayers

Posted by Becca  Published in Meditations, Poems

I asked for a place
To belong; God gave, instead,
Belonging to Him.

I asked for smooth roads;
Instead, God granted me wings
To rise up and fly.

I asked Him for peace;
He made me a peace maker
And then sent me forth.

So all my prayers
He answered in His own way;
And His ways are best.

Good Morning!

Posted by Becca  Published in Mothers, Poems

Blue-gray baby eyes wide awake;
Chubby baby hands pat my cheek.
The sun is up;
so am I.
Motherhood: Joy.

God is Able

Posted by Becca  Published in Poems

In light of the big, scary, grown-up world out there…

My God is able! Ah, wonderful truth!
Say not ‘impossible’; not to my King,
Strength of the aged and Guide of the youth;
My God is able to do anything!

Able to meet, with His infinite power,
Any attack; to cause warring to cease;
Able to meet every need of each hour –
Undisturbed patience and unexplained peace.

Able, not only to save, but to keep;
Able not just to begin, but to end.
Able to give, while His precious ones sleep;
Rich to supply them and strong to defend.

Able! Well able! Then why be distressed?
Why? He your storm and your sorrow can quell;
Roll all your cares on His shoulders and rest -
God is still able, and all shall be well.
